Another Step towards Democracy by India May 25, 2009

Filed under: General — RL @ 7:38 pm

Recent elections in India has come up with answers of lots of unsolved dilemmas regarding India, its people and its future. These election results have not only showing the bright future of Indian people but it is also showing the sign of “Great change” in once fully socialist nation but now becoming the Asian hub of capitalism.

Giving another tenure to Dr. Manmohan Singh is the smartest and thus obvious decision that can be made and now he has become the 2nd prime minister after Nehru who gave India the unity but ad hoc economy. I see Dr. Singh as true and bigger revolutionist than Nehru but silent one.

Last few years can be used as report card of the congress which has totally changed its image, policies and attitude in past 2 decades and today’s congress can be viewed as Anti-Congress of itself 4 decades back.I remember the Nehru’s and then Indira Gandhi’s words and reforms against capitalism. The context of bringing this in light is to show the beauty of Democracy which actually lies in transforming your self according to the rule of people and in past 8 months we have seen it twice; first in US and now in India.

I don’t know why but events like these makes me happy and hopeful for coming generations and I believe these two nations have covered the big journey and Pakistan was not even conceptualized when India covered its more than half of journey towards democracy. Though I accept that everything bird is not golden one in India but it is moving towards it and these 2009 elections are big step ahead in this direction.

My interest in India has grown deeper these days since I am following the Nandan Nilkhani articulated words in his “Imagining India: The ideas for 21st Century.”

All Out War against Taliban May 8, 2009

Filed under: Politics — RL @ 8:44 am

Some interesting stories were developing for last 2 weeks following Gen. David Petraeus’s statement, commander of U.S. Central Command, that “Next two weeks are critical for Pakistan’s Survival.” Though it was enough to predict that something unpredictable is coming along the way of Pakistan’s vulnerable democratic government but it was hard to say what?

This thing became clear with president Zardari’s visit to US as some unidentified sources revealed from PPP government reveled that US wants Nawaz Sharif as PM and Zardari as President to sooth the political unrest in the country so that more focus can be given to Northern areas of Pakistan. But that would be the last thing PPPP would wanted considering the past few months.

Thus to save their government we saw the Gilani’s all out war against Taliban in Northern areas and breaking the dialogue process which was teasing the US in its nose since it has been initiated.

I personally believe Taliban’s aim in Pakistan is not to spread the Shria law but they want this whole country to go on their artifact “Jihad” against the US. We as nation can not afford them to spread even a inch now since their wave has came quite closer to Islamabad while Government handicapped by their deals in Swat.

It was very good decision by Government which should have been came earlier and we should stand by this and at least I am.

All the best to our great great Army.

Pakistan Paindabad.

2nd Prize for Innovative Business Idea in Procom.Net 2009 May 3, 2009

Filed under: Life — RL @ 11:05 am

I was playing football at beach till 2 am one night before the competition and still didn’t start the presentation yet. I returned home round 3:30 and did my presentation thing till 6 am for my Business idea. I was so tired that 3 alarm clocks couldn’t awake me on the time thus i reached at University quite late and drowsy mood and thought to drop the idea of participating. But thanks to my friend ali who motivated me to participate at least.

My Business idea was more of my own story as I suffered because un-availability of such a service. It was the idea of exchanging the books with different through network. My idea was basically to initiate that network/platform where books can be shared.

I was short of 2 points from 1st prize on the scale of 100 but never mind 4000 cash prize is enough to satisfy my immediate small wishes :)
