Another Step towards Democracy by India May 25, 2009
Recent elections in India has come up with answers of lots of unsolved dilemmas regarding India, its people and its future. These election results have not only showing the bright future of Indian people but it is also showing the sign of “Great change” in once fully socialist nation but now becoming the Asian hub of capitalism.
Giving another tenure to Dr. Manmohan Singh is the smartest and thus obvious decision that can be made and now he has become the 2nd prime minister after Nehru who gave India the unity but ad hoc economy. I see Dr. Singh as true and bigger revolutionist than Nehru but silent one.
Last few years can be used as report card of the congress which has totally changed its image, policies and attitude in past 2 decades and today’s congress can be viewed as Anti-Congress of itself 4 decades back.I remember the Nehru’s and then Indira Gandhi’s words and reforms against capitalism. The context of bringing this in light is to show the beauty of Democracy which actually lies in transforming your self according to the rule of people and in past 8 months we have seen it twice; first in US and now in India.
I don’t know why but events like these makes me happy and hopeful for coming generations and I believe these two nations have covered the big journey and Pakistan was not even conceptualized when India covered its more than half of journey towards democracy. Though I accept that everything bird is not golden one in India but it is moving towards it and these 2009 elections are big step ahead in this direction.
My interest in India has grown deeper these days since I am following the Nandan Nilkhani articulated words in his “Imagining India: The ideas for 21st Century.”
The Resilient Karachites April 30, 2009
People just talk about the dangers in Pakistan metropolitan cities but no one bothers how common citizen responds to it. The recent riots in Karachi which claimed the life of 40 people in the city and affected hundreds of families showed the another sign of burning situation of Group communal conflicts between MQM and ANP.
But my subject of writing today is not the riots and the issues behind it but how common karachite responds to it which reminds me saying of Mumbaians “Hum kabhi rukte nahin hain”. But Internationally people doesn’t notice how resilient Karachites are? It was surprising to see how people went out to work and their jobs a on very next day. Though it wasn’t the normal crowd but still enough to make your numb.
I believe the reason behind is the fact that we have accepted these kinds of events as part of our life. We don’t speak too much about and doesn’t even give “a thought” to stand up against it. Though it is good to be resilient but it doesn’t mean to loose your stimulus.
The Art of Blogging May 27, 2008

Blogging is very common though but still irrelevant to lots of people especially in south Asian countries. For instance, in my university batch out of 120 students only 3 owns a blog though we are students of technology. The major reason isn’t they don’t like to write or they don’t an art to write but it is they have never enjoy writing. Even I don’t consider myself as a writer but I love and enjoy writing. I love to express as every human does but every person has different way of expressing himself. When I started blogging, I remember, it was hot sunny day; I was thinking why should I write? In technical terms, why should I blog? Truly speaking, I didn’t have any answer because I didn’t have any reason actually. My first blog “No Theory in LOVE” Theory was more or less like a joke from writing perspective.
Before moving on, I want you to know basically what is blogging?
Merriam Webster: ‘A Web site that contains an online personal journal with reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer.”
Wikipedia: ‘Is a website, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.”
In today’s world, blogging has become trend of expression. Expression of freedom and I don’t mind saying that blog has been the best product of web 2.0 so far. It actually fulfills the promise web 2.0. People have started expressing their political views, technical gossips, health mania, religious dilemmas and much more. Not only do those, but even governments don’t ignore them. Take the case a Saudi blogger who was put behind the bars last year only because he wrote on US-Saudi relations which US didn’t like much. Big corporate giants and small fishes, both using the blogs as new way of marketing. Take the example of vista team, they own a blog where they put updates frequently and answer the questions of people as well. So blog is not a one-way communication only.
The best about blogging is, it is something which you can show your grand children, funny haan!!! It is, I know. But it is true as well. For instance it has been almost a year now since I started my blog and sometimes I go back and read to previous articles, something’s really make me laugh. I mean, Wow. But it still feels good. I am wondering how about reading this same article or blog in age of 60. Isn’t it exciting?
Coming to point, some one asked me recently “what you get from blogging?” I replied ‘start blogging first’. Really, there is no answer to a question when it comes to expressing your emotions and feelings. I love blogging especially when I feel stressed. It makes me feel relax. Sometimes I reply to this question, ‘I don’t want a girl friend that’s why I blog’…Sounds strange haan – An stupid answer to an stupid question.
There are lots of advantages of blogging; prominently it inspires you to read. When I started blogging, I not only start thinking about my next article but I also started visiting many blogs and I really read a lot after that. Secondly, it improves your writing skills exponentially and the best thing is even you don’t notice it. In the first few months of blogging, there were few visitors on my blog even some harsh days makes the counter zero. I feel disappointed but now my blog has enough visitors which really push me to write more and more. Thank you all. After this journey of a year, I noticed there is a good way to raise blog readers that is “Tags”. The better your tags are the better the trap is and yeah pictures as well. Understanding the Google’s image searching algorithm, which functions mostly on text even when you are looking for a picture, this thing helps you as well because I tried it and I become quite successful in it. For instance, the header picture of eyes present on my blog, I renamed it to beautiful picture believe me alone on this I used to get on average 30 visitors daily using Google’s image searching.
So blogging is bit a tough nut to crack in the beginning same as like opening any new business. It teaches you to be patient. And yeah last but not least it grows your friendship circle.
Happy blogging.
Why I am beautiful…? April 9, 2008
This is a true story of a woman who has touched the soft corner of my heart with her arguments and inferiority complexes. The thing which gives confidence and become the cause of superiority complex in woman’s life is actually her problem. The most blissful thing is the curse for her. Even being so lucky in eyes of others she finds herself the unluckiest on this planet.
If you are still wondering what I am talking about then here is the answer. I am talking about a girl who is may be the one of the most beautiful that I have ever met. After first meeting, everyone has only one thing to say for her “WOW”. And that’s what her problem is. Blessing for others has become the curse of her life. Even being the fortunate she finds herself star-crossed. She cries for becoming a woman that no woman wants to be (I am sure you are still confused).
Being beautiful is not always good. And I have learnt that from her. She feels frustrated by getting the undeserving special care of people only because she is striking. She gets angry when she gets everything so easily without making any effort because people give her more priority than what she justifies. She feels ill-fated when she doubts every guy tolling her for friendship. She feels puzzled when the whole world approaches her like she is princess instead of common girl like others. She feels lonely when she sees no true friend on her side when she needed most. She finds herself in dilemma when she wanted to strive and live in the way whole world lives instead of being pampered. And whenever she feels that she questions her God ‘why I am beautiful?’
Now I am confused and unable to decide if she is really an unlucky folk.
- This is also a reply to an article published in Online 20th Kill me but make me beautiful by Lubna Shahid. It took a year to answer that but finally I have found a true story.
I want to dedicate this article to every woman on this planet who has questioned herself that why I am not beautiful as only 3% of woman on earth considers themselves as beautiful (Royal Society survey, ’06).
